Here’s a somewhat unusual painting of George Washington. This was done by a Pennsylvania German artist in a style that was termed “fraktur”. It’s based on medieval manuscripts/illustrations, and the name comes from the “fractured” or pointed look of the script. This image was done sometime in the 1780s.
